PHILOSOPHY

While obtaining my Masters of Arts in Art Education from Queens College, I focused on integrating CR-SE or Culturally Relevant - Sustaining Education into the art room. My passion lies in fostering a love of art in all students by making art experiences accessible and captivating. My teaching philosophy draws inspiration from constructivism, emphasizing the importance of allowing students the freedom to make choices and develop their own distinct identities, perspectives, and preferences within a structured and supportive environment. With my intuitive and flexible mindset, I possess a talent for designing visual art curriculum and lessons that promote creative thinking, problem-solving, and the cultivation of great craftsmanship. I am well-equipped to instruct visual art to a wide range of students, including those in ESL and special education programs.

“As a child, I’d pour myself into any arts or crafts activity. Now, I get to share my passion with the next generation of movers and shakers .”
